Software Engineering Work

Mayuko’s passion as a Software Engineer lies in helping people with technology — a value instilled in her by both of her parents who were both in Education. She found her place in iOS development during her first full-time role at Intuit, working on the TurboTax iOS application. Since then, she’s enjoyed working across the stack and cross-functionally with product and design experts.

Work History

September 2010 — August 2014

Attended UC San Diego and earned her B.S. Computer Science.

August 2014 — September 2015

Started work at Intuit as part of the early career Rotational Development Program at Intuit. Worked on iOS development for the first time, and contributed to the TurboTax iOS app’s rewrite.

September 2015 — April 2016

Moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and started her second rotation at QuickBooks, where she worked on the QuickBooks iOS App.

May 2016 — October 2018

Started work at Patreon as the only iOS engineer, went on to own large parts of the Patreon iOS app and helped to grow the team.

November 2018 — January 2020

Started at Netflix to work on the iOS UI team at their office in Los Gatos, CA.

March 2020 — present

Working full-time on her content-creation business, producing videos and online content for the next generation of Software Engineers.
